Direct Access Training (Cat A Licence)

The Direct Access Scheme (DAS) allows riders aged twenty-four or over, or who have held an A2 Licence for two years to test on a large motorcycle, which then enables you to ride any motorcycle with no restrictions to power or engine size upon passing the test.

To be eligible for the DVSA riding Module 1 & 2 riding tests for the Category A Licence riders must be in possession of a CBT Certificate which is normally achieved as part of our Training Course & Theory Hazard Perception Pass Certificate.

With 2 years previous A2 licence experience riders can progress straight to the test without the need for a CBT or Theory certificate.

You must complete both Modules of the DVSA motorcycle test on a machine of at least 595cc and minimum power rating of 50Kw (67HP).

A2B Direct Access Training Courses

Our training courses are available seven days a week. If you prefer to run your training over weekends remember your test days will be weekdays.

A2B offer pre booked riding tests, both MOD 1 & 2 so once on board with us a client could complete within a few weeks or even less.

We have several new Kawasaki Z650 motorbikes and Suzuki Gladius SFV 650 motorbike, a number of which have been lowered. Whichever bike you ride you are assured top quality training that will give you a riding standard and competence beyond the DVSA normal test pass level.

Occasionally clients may choose to use their own bikes, we have had L Plates on 1200cc Harley Davidsons, numerous Triumph Bonneville’s and Tigers. You must ensure your own bike is adequately insured for use in provisional Licence training with L plates.

Our pass rate is exceptional, you should pass your test first time, and we won’t take you until we both know you are ready, both technically and mentally!
